I am writing this review to share the absolutely unacceptable experience my uncle had at Lipton Toyota in Fort Lauderdale, specifically involving Hugo Bracho (Salesperson) and Richard Gonzalez (Finance Representative). My uncle went to this dealership to purchase a truck. The dealership ran his credit, discussed the financing terms, calculated the numbers, and instructed him to move forward with the purchase. They even ordered the truck for him, and he patiently waited OVER A MONTH for it to arrive. Once the vehicle arrived, he traveled to Fort Lauderdale to pick it up. He paid his down payment, completed every step requested by the salesperson and finance representative, signed the contract, and was given possession of the vehicle. THEN, JUST TWO DAYS LATER, THEY CALLED HIM TO SAY HIS FINANCING HAD NOT BEEN APPROVED AND THAT HE NEEDED TO RETURN THE TRUCK! HOW IS THIS ACCEPTABLE BUSINESS PRACTICE? How does a dealership order a vehicle for a customer, make him wait over a month, collect his down payment, have him sign the paperwork, hand him the keys, and THEN announce that the financing was not approved? What exactly were Hugo Bracho and Richard Gonzalez doing throughout this entire process? Why wasn’t the financing situation clearly explained BEFORE delivering the vehicle? This is an outrageous way to treat a customer who trusted the dealership, followed every instruction, and acted in good faith. Customers deserve honesty, transparency, and professionalism, especially when making such a significant financial commitment. A SIGNED CONTRACT AND A DELIVERED VEHICLE SHOULD NOT TURN INTO A NIGHTMARE TWO DAYS LATER BECAUSE OF A FINANCING ISSUE THAT WAS NOT CLEARLY DISCLOSED. I strongly encourage anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from Lipton Toyota to be extremely cautious. Ask questions, demand written confirmation of financing terms, and carefully review every document before handing over your money. I genuinely feel they took advantage of an elderly customer. We even question whether they found a better deal and simply want the vehicle back. THIS IS BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL. Every time I get serviced at Lipton, I have had such quality work done and the attention to detail with the customer service has been phenomenal! Andy is amazing and everyone is super nice.
